$4 Million Going to SSEMC Members

Snapping Shoals EMC is a not-for-profit cooperative, which means we collect only enough revenue to cover the cost of operating our business. Any excess revenue is retained for members in the form of capital credits.

Whenever possible, Snapping Shoals EMC's Board of Directors elects to "retire" or "refund" a portion of these capital credits to SSEMC's members. In July, eligible members will receive their share of margins that are being retired for parts of 2001, 2002, and 2016. The amount eligible members will receive is based on their electric usage during those years. Members receiving amounts over $25 will receive a check for their distribution, and amounts less than $25 will be applied to the member's next bill as a credit.

Reliable service, electric rates that are among the lowest in the state and the return of capital credits -- three important benefits of being a Snapping Shoals Member.
