Bill Payment
Snapping Shoals EMC bills its consumer-members on a monthly basis. Our service area is divided into billing cycles and meter routes. Each member’s meter is billed approximately every 30 days. Payment is due by the date shown on your bill. If your bill amount is not received on time, a late charge may be added to your account and a final notice may be issued. Once a final notice is issued, the account is subject to disconnection if payment is not made immediately.

You can mail your Snapping Shoals EMC payment, in the form of a check or money order, using the return envelope provided with your bill. If you have lost your return envelope, mail your payment to P.O. Box 73, Covington, GA 30015, or you can pay in-person by cash, check or money order at any of our authorized payment locations (directions).

Payment Options

E-Bill
You may also pay your bill by phone or online through E-bill using a credit card (Visa or MasterCard), check or an ATM bank card. To pay by phone, call 678-729-8080.

PaySite Kiosk
Our easy-to-use PaySite kiosk is located in the foyer of our Covington office and is accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The kiosk accepts cash and checks, and your payment is posted to your account immediately.  Please keep in mind that the kiosk does not provide change. For more information about the PaySite kiosk, please visit www.uspayments.com.

Budget Billing Plan
Members can choose to pay the same amount each month by participating in the Budget Billing Plan. The monthly budget amount, which is normally recalculated every year, is based on the average monthly energy consumption for your account during the previous 12 months. Although you pay a set amount each month on the budget plan, you are still responsible for all of your energy use. At recalculation time, any deficit or credit will be reflected in your new budget amount. Residential members who have a zero balance on their Snapping Shoals account are eligible for the plan. Participants must pay their bills in full and on time every month to remain in the program. Call us at 770-786-3484 for details.

  Bank Draft
Snapping Shoals EMC offers an Electronic Draft Plan that allows you to automatically pay your electric bill each month directly through your bank account. If you sign up for this plan, you will still receive a bill every month stating the amount due, but that amount will be automatically drafted from your bank account on the due date. To participate in this program, you must complete an authorization form and return it to us with a blank voided check. Call 770-786-3484 for details.

Senior Citizen-Low Income Assistance

A senior-citizen/low-income discount is available to qualifying members of Snapping Shoals EMC. To qualify you must be at least 65 years of age and your total household income may not be more than $20,000 a year. The discount, which is $7.50 per month, may be applied only to an account serving the principal residence of the qualifying member. The account must be on our regular residential rate, be separately metered and be in the applicant’s name. Call 770-786-3484 for details.

Authorized Payment Locations
In addition to our offices, located at 14750 Brown Bridge Road in Covington and 190 Fairview Road in Ellenwood, we have additional authorized payment locations through Fidelity Express, a payment company that contracts with convenience or other stores to accept payments. Generally, the payments will be posted within 10 to 15 minutes of the payment. The stores do charge a $1.00 fee for accepting payments. For Fidelity Express payment locations, please call us at 770-786-3484.

Wal-Mart stores are also SSEMC authorized payment locations. You can make a payment at any Wal-Mart location as long as you have your bill stub and are making your payment in cash or with a pin-based debit card. Payments may be made at the store’s Money Center. If the store does not have a Money Center, then payments will be accepted at the store’s Customer Service Center. Wal-Mart charges an 88-cent fee for processing these payments, which may take up to 3 days to post to your SSEMC account, so please allow ample time before your bill's due date. Wal-Mart also offers a next business day option for $1.88.
