Thank you to everyone who attended our Annual Meeting at the Georgia International Horse Park on July 18! More than 1,529 SSEMC members registered, which meant that including members' guests, we got to spend the day with about 3,000 smiling faces!

The crowd was treated to music from The Purple Hulls, health advice from Piedmont Newton, energy tips from SSEMC employees and a visit from 811's Digger the Dog. Members also had the opportunity meet reps from EMC Security and Walton Gas.

Keith Williams of Covington was the lucky winner of the Ford ranger that was retired from SSEMC’s fleet. Rufus and Margaret Johnson of Covington were the Oldest Married Couple in attendance and will receive a $100 credit on their power bill. Carolyn Greeson of Covington was the Oldest Member in attendance and will receive a $50 bill credit.

Board of Directors Lance Harper (District 1), G. Anthony Norton (District 2), Walter Johnson (District 3) and Gene Morris (District 4) were each re-elected to serve 3-year terms for their districts. Jeff Wigington was elected to fill the unexpired term of District 2 Director Dr. Millard Ross, who passed away in July 2023.
